Ocean View Church Photo & Video Media Policy

At Ocean View Church, we use photography and video to celebrate and share the life of our church. Media may be captured during worship services, events, classes, and ministry activities to communicate what God is doing in our community.

Consent & Participation

By attending any Ocean View Church service, event, or activity, you are entering an environment where photography, audio, and video recording may occur. Your presence grants Ocean View Church permission to capture and use your image or likeness in church-related communications, including print, digital, and social media platforms.

We may capture both general crowd scenes and more focused images. While general group settings may be recorded without individual notice, we seek to use care and discretion when individuals are more prominently featured.

Privacy & Personal Information

We are committed to protecting personal privacy:

• We do not publish last names or personally identifiable information without explicit permission.
• When individuals are identified, only first names will be used.

Opt-Out Requests

We respect the preferences of individuals and families:

• Anyone may request not to be photographed or recorded.
• We will make every reasonable effort to honor these requests and will not knowingly use images of individuals who have opted out.
• To opt out, please contact the church office at office@ovbc.org.

Children & Student Environments

• Children are considered opted-in for photography and video through their registration in Ocean View Church kids or student ministries.
• We do not publish identifying personal information about minors. If a child or student is to be featured, we will contact the family for permission first.
• A parent or guardian may request their child not be included in media at any time, and we will honor that request moving forward.

Social Media & Tagging

• Ocean View Church will not tag or identify individuals on social media without prior contact or permission.
• If an individual is prominently featured (such as in an interview, testimony, etc.) we will seek permission prior to publication.

Sensitive Environments

Out of respect for personal and spiritual moments, certain environments or portions of services may be designated as no-recording zones. These may include prayer, counseling, or ministry response times. Media team members will follow the direction of church leadership in these settings.

Third-Party Photography & Sharing

While we strive to protect the privacy of our church community:

• Ocean View Church is not responsible for photos or videos taken or shared by attendees or third parties.
• We ask all participants to respect the privacy of others—especially minors—by seeking permission before posting images or video.
• Ocean View Church reserves the right to ask individuals to refrain from recording or to remove content if it violates this policy or disrupts the environment.

Limitations of Media Removal

We will make reasonable efforts to honor requests for removal of images or video:

• We may not be able to remove individuals from group photos or videos once they have been published.
• Editing or removing previously distributed content may not always be possible.
• Ocean View Church is not responsible for screenshots, downloads, or redistribution of media by third parties once content has been published.
• If you see yourself in a posted image and would like to be removed, please notify office@ovbc.org. Include the date the image was originally posted, the platform or site, a screenshot of the image, and a description identifying yourself in the image.

Media Storage & Use

Media captured by Ocean View Church is used for ministry-related purposes, including communication, storytelling, and promotion. All media is stored securely, and access is limited to approved staff and volunteer team members.
