First View is our weekly environment created especially for your infant (six weeks) through preschool-aged children. We believe in an active, hands-on approach to learning with preschool children. So, you can plan on a lot of jumping, singing, dancing, and laughter in every experience. We are ready for them!
It is our hope that your child will learn:
God loves me.
God made me.
Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
First View is available during the 9:00 a.m., 10:05 a.m. and 11:10 a.m. Sunday times.
We know things are busy at this stage of life and your children are learning and growing in amazing ways. We can’t wait to meet them!
Club 252 is our weekly adventure for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. At Club 252, we believe the Bible should never be boring, worship can be loud, and good leaders are consistent and always care. The focus is our small group environment. We want kids to see how God’s Word fits in to their lives, to learn how to talk to Him, and to build friendships that will last.
Before kids head off to middle school, we want to make sure these three things stick:
I need to make the wise choice.
I can trust God no matter what.
I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
We believe it’s important to make sure your child connects with the same friends and same leader at the same hour—every Sunday! Club 252 is available on Sundays during the 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. At 10:05, there’s Club 252+, where learning opportunities expand and become “now what?” life applications for everyday life. In short, age-appropriate elementary environments are available at all Sunday times!
FX (Family Experience)
For: Kindergarten – 5th Graders and Their Parents
Where: Room C-202
FX or Family eXperience is the place where Club 252 (elementary) kids and their parents come together to learn more about God! It’s a 45-minute fun, interactive experience that happens once a month from September through June. Because our goal is to partner with parents, we launch the Life App that K–5th graders are learning about in Club 252 all month long. With take homes we call widgets and parent cues, we try to provide ideas for learning and discussion where it counts the most- your home.
FX- Family eXperience happens the FIRST Sunday of each month at 10:05 a.m. during the school year.
Mission Friends, for children from age 2 through Kindergarten happens on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm during the school year. Preschoolers learn the first steps to loving God and loving others in their world and beyond.
UpStreetOur elementary aged children love coming to UpStreet. As they make their way down the hall, it’s as if they are walking down a beach-town boardwalk. They’ll pass the surf shop and a snack shack and turn the corner at the Pet Shop. The walls are hand painted and beautiful. But, it’s what happens inside each of the classrooms that really counts.
Divided according to their class grade, they arrive and are greeted by their Small Group leader. “Plug in” is a time designed to introduce them to the day’s topic as they receive attention from their Small Group leader and have interaction with their peers. There are often lively conversation and an activity that helps demonstrate the monthly virtue and the “Bottom Line”.
UpStreet large group time, “Power Up” in an innovative approach to engage the children in worship in a group setting. High energy music greets them as they enter. Music, prayer, and effective Bible storytelling is always part of this interactive time. They will learn how to make the wise choice, to trust God no matter what, and to treat others the way you want to be treated in an engaging, exciting way, telling the timeless Bible truths in a new and captivating way. The “Monthly Virtue” and the “Bottom Line” are stressed during large group as well.
As they return to their small group they “Catch On” to the day’s topic and talk about how it applies to them. They participate in a variety of hands on often very energetic activities. Life application as well as encouraging them in scripture memory and prayer is part of this time as well.
“GodTime” cards and “Fridge Door” cards are given to them as they leave. These tools help parents in spiritual growth as is spoken of in Deuteronomy 6:7… to impress these commandments upon your children when you sit at home, walk along the road, when you lie down, and when you get up.
Come join us in UpStreet and check out the walls… but remember, it’s what happens inside that counts.
At Ocean View Baptist Church, we know “Children are a gift from the Lord.” In Promiseland, we lovingly care for babies through age 4K. Newborns through age 1 (walkers) are rocked, sung to and prayed over. Their basic needs, feeding, changing, and snuggling are lovingly met by the same volunteers, we call them “Shepherd’s”, each week.
Upon arrival, children ages 1-2 and 3-4 are greeted by one of their “Shepherd’s” and are gathered into their small groups for “Make It Fun”. This is a small, creative activity they do as they wait for the others to arrive and get settled.
They start with “Make it True” time in a large group on the floor. This activity is lead by one of the Shepherds. Here they listen to the Bible story which is told in a fun, engaging way using all sorts of fun props. After the story, they are led in a time or worship… just for little people. They clap, jump, and spin around as they praise God. Snack time follows next which is always well received!
The “Make it Stick” time is designed to help them remember and understand the Bible story. These activities are always hand on, fun, purposeful, and sometimes, even a little messy! As they gather together to “Make it Real”, they share real life experiences and prayer requests as well. Having a team of devoted volunteers each and every Sunday builds trust and relationships while they hear about how God loves them, God made them, and Jesus wants to be their forever friend.
As they leave, they are given a “Small Talk Card” and a “Refrigerator Magnet” to be used at home. These tools help parents lead their kids in spiritual growth as is spoken in Deuteronomy 6:7… to impress these commandments upon your children when you sit at home, walk along the road, when you lie down and get up.

Girls in Action
Girls in Action has a two-fold purpose- it teaches girls in grades 1 through 5 what missionaries are doing at home and around the world to lead others into a relationship with Jesus Christ. They partner with those missionaries in projects and prayer. Then GA also gives opportunities for the girls to experience first-hand in their own community how to reach out to others in need and point them toward Jesus. On Wednesdays at 6:30 pm during the school year.
