Coastal School Ministries

Coastal School Ministries works in partnership with Horry County Public Schools to expose youth to Biblical Principles through Released-Time Bible Education Released-Time Bible Education classes are offered multiple class periods each day, five days a week throughout the school year, and offers students a safe venue to ask questions without fear or ridicule. In this safe environment, students are challenged to think about their beliefs and define their baseline for defining right and wrong and evaluating the challenges and choices they face daily.

Neighbor to Neighbor

Neighbor to Neighbor (N2N) is a volunteer based, door-to-door transportation service in Horry and Georgetown Counties for home-bound seniors and chronically ill and disabled adults.

Coastal Recovery Center

Coastal Recovery Center was established as a result of a recognized need for a private non-profit alternative to medical and counseling treatment of addictions (substance and behavior) and co-occurring disorders. The impact on family and loved ones is tremendous. They are family oriented in their approach, providing needs for the extended family and include them in the therapeutic process.

IMPACT Ministries

Supporting missionaries, Todd Wood, Peter Copeland and the Retreat Center, Ocean View partners with IMPACT Ministries to help share the message of Christ along the Grand Strand of Myrtle Beach. Each year more than 18 million tourists come to our city for vacation. They need mission teams to perform, host block parties, provide day camps in campgrounds and multi-housing sites, engage in beach reach, minister in retirement homes, face paint and balloon sculpt and meet the physical needs of our residents and visitors in order for us to, most importantly, meet their spiritual needs.

Coastline Women’s Center educates supports and empowers women facing unplanned pregnancies with compassionate and professional medical care. Their mission is to empower women and men facing untimely pregnancies with compassionate & professional care. Medical services are provided free of charge by licensed medical personnel. Coastline Women’s Center does not offer or refer for abortion.

Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach

Helping Hand is a short-term crisis and referral agency which seeks to address the needs of our community not met by other existing institutions. Our mission is to assist individuals and families with immediate, short-term needs such as food, rent, utilities, and other specialized services, which if not met, would threaten an individual’s or family’s stability. By providing these services Helping Hand seeks to prevent those in need of basic services from falling into homelessness.

Community Kitchen Inc.

The Community Kitchen of Myrtle Beach tradition for the past 27 years is to feed the hungry. They serve the working poor, our senior citizens, Veterans, children, the transients, and the homeless. In 2018 they served over 101,019 guests without regard to the situation or condition. The meals and fellowship are provided at NO COST to their guest.

Hope House

The mission of Hope House is to provide a healthy environment for registered Myrtle Beach High School students who are designated homeless and who are actively completing their academic requirements to receive a high school diploma. Your funds and material donations help provide our homeless high school students with basic needs of shelter, food, clothing and medical services as well as those things that make life fuller such as sports equipment, SAT and college application fees, tutoring and transportation.

New Directions

Our mission at New Directions is to provide those in need with temporary shelter, basic necessities, and connections to resources, empowering them to rest, regroup, rediscover hope, and open doors to change themselves and their community. New Directions operates four shelters along the Grand Strand to assist men, women, and families with emergency, non-emergency, long term, and transitional housing.

Reading Buddies of Myrtle Beach

Reading Buddies of Myrtle Beach is a community engagement initiative created to encourage individuals, businesses, city government, civic and faith-based organizations to serve at-risk elementary students as literacy mentors to encourage their academic and lifelong success. OVBC Back-Pack Ministry

Thousands of students throughout the Myrtle Beach metro area are not assured of adequate nutrition on the weekends. Ocean View’s Back Pack Ministry has changed that scenario for students at the MB Early Childhood School. The Back Pack ministry program sends eligible students home on Fridays with backpacks filled with food to help them over the weekend bump. The ministry feeds over 136 Myrtle Beach Early Childhood School children each weekend. Food for the weekend cost of $3.50 per child per week, totaling $476 per week. Meals are provided for 36 weeks for these children. That’s 4896 meals per year, totaling over $17,000 per year. For more information, email jim@ovbc.org
